What’s looking at green to bring in green...
Kenya’s presidential candidate Prof George Wajackoyah promised to use snake farming and Marijuana to clear Kenya's debts.
“It is time to decriminalize marijuana, practice snake farming and embrace modern agricultural technologies to offset Kenya’s debt which currently skids at Sh8.4 trillion.”
The goal: To boost the economy through agriculture and foreign trade.
Thailand too legalized the ‘weed’ plant
The gov legalized the growing and selling of marijuana. Residents can now grow it at home…as long as they register and ensure it’s for medical use. Restaurants and cafes can also serve cannabis-infused foods but have a 0.2% THC limit. The gov is even giving away 1 million cannabis seedlings to citizens to encourage them to enter their 'Plant Mom' era.
But smoking for fun is still banned.
At first glance, weed doesn’t appear to be a hazy subject. Polls show that most adults in the US (91%) support legalizing marijuana. Around the world, at least four countries have also given it the thumbs up. Even Canada…
But while countries like Thailand have legalized weed, Kenya and others still haven't. Here's why.

AYA Thought
Research shows that even well-intentioned men are likely to respond to sexist workplace comments with “benevolent sexism”: attitudes, practices, and actions that seem positive (such as aid, flattery, and rewards) but that undercut their goal of supporting women at work, often under the pretence of providing them with help, protection, compliments, and affection.

Why is my internet sometimes SO SLOW?
- Safaricom does throttle its internet bandwidth.
In street lingo, “Safaricom Wananyonga.”
“Upon reaching the Fair Usage limit for the package, the speeds will be throttled to 1Mbps for Bronze plans and 3Mbps for Silver, Gold and Diamond plans for the remainder of the validity period of the subscription.” Says Safaricom
What About Torrents?
What are those?
Torrents are a method of distributing files over the internet. They operate over the BitTorrent protocol (another fancy term?) to facilitate what's called peer-to-peer (P2P) file-sharing.
Anyone downloading the torrent gets it in bits and pieces from the other users (We’re just sharing).
How do I download torrents without my ISP knowing?
Using torrents is a legal and efficient way of sharing large files. For more information on how to use torrents, READ MORE
You won’t have to pay for TV anymore…
But…
YES, torrents are capped (Throttled) on Safaricom Data to about 60kbps..
What is Bandwidth Throttling?
Put simply: Safaricom (the ISP), deliberately slows down your internet connection, based on your online activity.
Bandwidth throttling stops you from using too much of the ISP’s bandwidth via streaming, downloading, and peer-to-peer (P2P) sharing.
(It's done secretly, without your knowledge or permission, as a cost-saving exercise for the ISP).
Using a VPN to Bypass Throttling
By encrypting your data, a VPN hides your online activity from your ISP, so they can't target you for streaming, downloading, or torrenting.
Your internet service provider (ISP) hosts all the data you send and receive online. This allows them to track everything you do on their network. They can also control your available data and internet connection.
Based on all this information, an ISP will flag any activity they deem problematic and take action.
(Like when you’re watching too much Porn)!
If they can’t track it, they can’t restrict it.
The most effective way to bypass throttling is to hide your online activity from your ISP. If they can't track your data and browsing activity, they won't be able to restrict it.
With the ISP unable to track the data you send and receive on their network, you can't be flagged for streaming, downloading, torrenting, or any other activity that drains their bandwidth.
They don’t know who you are.
